About

We turn choosing a career into a real conversation

TANYM is an AI mentor for teens aged 14–18 and college students in Kazakhstan. It is built by a student team as part of Enactus.

The problem

Endless options in the feed. Nothing to hold on to.

  • Too much of everything

Every day the feed shows new careers, “everything’s amazing” success stories and other people’s lives. Picking your own thing from all that is hard, and there’s no time to ask “what do I actually like?”
  • Tests box you in

Ready-made answer options and questions about jobs you’ve never tried. In the end — a label that doesn’t explain much.
  • No first step

Even if a field seems clear, it’s not obvious what to do this week to check whether it’s really yours.

Approach

How we solve it

  • An open conversation instead of a questionnaire: the teen talks in their own words, by text or voice.
  • Every conclusion rests on the teen’s own quote — you can see where it came from.
  • Up to three paths — as guesses to test, not a verdict. Any of them can be marked “That’s not me”.
  • A 20–40 minute task to test a path by doing, not by guessing.
  • Minimal data: no sign-up, the conversation stays on the device.
  • Safety first: if a teen is struggling, the career conversation stops and helpline numbers appear.

Better to try it once

The chat takes a few minutes, and at the end you’ll have a first step for this week.
